So while the whole US is going crazy over the semi-finals to an election that's six months away, I'm still trying to make sense of this whole liberal/conservative political thing. In Canada, at least when I was growing up, conservatives were progressive and liberals were economically rational. Then they switched, kind of like how Democrats suddenly became blue and Republicans red in the 1990s. I'm not sure how and when that happened, because I hung around zero poli sci majors at the time, and had to share a television with a floor of college girls that were more interested in the Young and the Restless than the national news.

This is all lead up to this study that (allegedly) proves what I always suspected: conservatives are happier than liberals. I mean, sure -- people in pro-life protests look pretty pissed off. But even though a lot of conservatives are probably raging alcoholics, at least their drug of choice is legal and in plentiful supply. What's not to be happy about?

And if you're thinking EVERYTHING, stop frowning, because it'll give you wrinkles.
