So contrary to popular belief, I haven't gone entirely AWOL. The last month or so has just been somewhat nutty, and looking at it objectively, I'm not entirely sure why. Here's my best stab at it, though.

The law school is going nuts. I don't get to participate in most of the summer job search madness (thank you, World Health Organization!) but between the two-day Public Interest Symposium and the firm events that wine and dine you on the way to corporate hell, stress levels were getting a little extreme. And these were people that did incredibly well (i.e. much better than me) and must have been born with platinum spoons in their mouths.

I also blame our lawyering program, which makes us do handstands to get the pass in a pass/fail class -- we're moving on to practical negotiation, mediation and litigation this term, meaning we get to dress up and interview people that are just as indignant as real clients. And then get taped. And then go home and write a memo on New York anti-discrimination law.

The professors of the term are a varied bunch, but griping about them would be useless, unfair, and possibly a bad academic move.

There was also a slight debacle about housing and roommates next year, leaving me hoping that I didn't shaft my current roommate too harshly. Elsewhere in my personal life, I have once again taken to urban hiking and exploring the range of non-sweet martinis and cocktails.

Yesterday I found out I have a tooth threatening to explode in my head and need a root canal. Funny, because it doesn't feel like it's about to rupture -- but my new dentist is a clinical professor of endodontics at the dental school, so I thought it was best not to argue.

And my latest project is my spring break trip up to Montreal to visit my dear Sammy.

Such is life.
